Franchise data
Franchise costs, royalties and closure rates
Every franchise brand our guides compare, 92 in all. The figures come from each brand's Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) where we could get it. Tap the info button next to any number to see exactly where it came from.
Revenue is not profit
The revenue column is what franchisees took in before royalties, wages and other costs, as each brand reports it in Item 19 of its FDD. It is not what an owner keeps. The closure rate is our own calculation from Item 20: closures in one year divided by franchised outlets at the start of that year. Brands that started the year with fewer than 10 outlets are too small to rate. How we calculate closure rates.
